I had so much fun with Andi and Calvin at their fresh and vibrant wedding celebration right off the beach in San Clemente, CA. Here is a sneak peek at their gorgeous day!
This past weeeknd, I had the privilege to witness one of the most moving and God-honoring wedding ceremonies I have ever seen. When I first met Jenn and Andy, they conveyed that it was very important to them that their wedding ceremony be a true covenant between them, not just a wedding contract. They wished to start their married lives with God at the center. Every element was chosen with that in mind and it was a very blessed ceremony. Here are some images from a few of the special moments. Jenn, Andy and I had so much fun at Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes, California shooting their main engagement session! We found some really cool spots and Jenn & Andy were game for anything, even crawling into the giant roots of trees and up through a water fountain to get some neat shots. This couple really sees their upcoming August wedding as a covenant between them, rather than just a contract. Those are Jenn’s words and I just love them! Enjoy!

Hi everyone! I have been lax about posting so I am going to try and back fill some of the fun things that have been going on for Jill Birkmann Photography over the next few weeks. Here are some shots from a beautiful high-end baby shower that took place at the Melrose Avenue restaurant “Il Cielo”. Beautiful mama Mia, looked like a runway model at 9 months pregnant and her sweet husband was beaming as he meandered among 60 happy women! It was really a great day with the sunlight streaming through the patio and an especially delicious table filled with all varieties of pink candy for baby girl Madison (in the belly still).

Last week I spent an exciting evening shooting a red carpet celebrity event for Good Samaritan Hospital. The hospital teamed up with designer Cavalli to bring guests a fun cocktail party followed by shopping on Sunset Plaza. All the stores stayed open late and everyone had a great time, all to benefit the cardiology department of the hospital. Neal McDonough from “Desperate Housewives” hosted the event (above with hospital CEO Andy Leeka). Below is Neal with his gorgeous wife who just delivered their 3rd child at the hospital a few weeks earlier. Check out some fun fashion and other details from the event below.

Yesterday was one giant inspiration as I got to spend the whole day with a long-time friend and one of my November 2010 brides-to-be, checking out all things wedding…but not just any old things…beautiful and fine things! This show is put on by the founder of Soolip, an elegant paper boutique on Melrose. There were gorgeous gowns by Monique Lhuillier, amazing flowers, cakes, fashions, make-up, photography, food, designers, musicians, you name it! The setting was a beautiful old Catholic church in downtown Los Angeles that has been renovated into a classic and beautiful event venue named VIBIANA. Here are a couple snapshots for fun! Jenn and Andy are an awesome couple who are getting married in August. Yesterday I went to scout the location where Jenn will be getting ready on her wedding day. It is a very cool and slightly retro house way up behind the gates in Rancho Palos Verdes. We turned it into an impromptu engagement session and was so fun! Instead of one big engagement session, we are doing a couple mini shoots to get lots of different perspectives on their courtship and engagement. I can’t wait for this wedding at Los Verdes Golf Club later on this year. I love photographing couples before their actual wedding day because you really start to get the whole picture of their love story! This one is great, more on these two later!
